Biography
A multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner, recipient of the Officer of the British Empire (OBE) bestowed upon her by Queen Elizabeth II, Jane Seymour has proven her talents in virtually all media, the Broadway stage, motion pictures and television. Seymour currently stars as the titular character in Harry Wild for Acorn TV and BBC America which debuted to rave reviews in the Spring of 2022 and is now in its 5th season.
Seymour has reached success with such lasting films as “Somewhere in Time” and “Live and Let Die”, Broadway and London stage acclaim including creating the role of Constanza in “Amadeus” and television achievements in award winning performances in “War and Remembrance” and “East of Eden.” Awarded a Golden Globe for her role as “Dr. Quinn,” Seymour made history with her six season “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman” series. Her now classic turn in “The Wedding Crashers” paired her with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson and showcased her comedy skills leading to starring roles alongside Robert DeNiro in “The War with Grandpa” and Netflix’s “The Kominsky Method” opposite Alan Arkin and Michael Douglas.
Through her production company she has produced and starred in programs as “Sunstroke”, “A Passion for Justice”, “Praying Mantis”, “The Absolute Truth”, “Enslavement: The Fanny Kemble Story”, “Murder in the Mirror”, “Dr. Quinn, The Movie”, “A Marriage of Convenience” “Blackout” and executive produced on the documentary film “Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me”.
Seymour has also made significant contributions as a philanthropist. Her passion to give back and make a difference led her to launch the Open Hearts Foundation in 2010. Rooted in her mother’s philosophy of selfless giving in the face of adversity, the Foundation empowers those who turn adversity into possibility. The Open Hearts philosophy has become a movement through the Foundation’s work providing grants to over seventy nonprofits across the United States.
